La Dama Del Alba - Actos I & II
1) Martin - Angelica fue su novia por dos años y su esposa por solamente tres días, pero sus sentimientos sobre la vida están apáticos. Él no quiero vivir en el pasado cuando hay mucho experimentar en el presente y el futuro. Aunque él le quisó a Angelica, tiene buenas recuerdas de ella.
El Abuelo - Él es sospechoso de las cosas que ponen en peligro. Aunque no es tan sospechoso como la madre, él es sabio. Cuando la peregrina llega, se queda callado. Su actitud sobre la vida es diferente que Martin y La Madre, pero lo mismo que Telva por su edad y sus experiencias.
Telva - Telva se enoja con la madre porque sus actitudes sobre la vida son completamente diferentes. Telva se siente que la vida viene y va. Los muertes de sus hijos y Angelica son los razónes para sus sentimientos sobre la vida - La vida continúa y después de que alguien muere se puede celebrado.
La Madre - En los ojos de la madre, la vida es preciosa. Angelica estaba “la manzana del ojo” de la madre, y su muerte casi la mata. Cada día la madre piensa sobre su hijo y cada día no consigue más fácil. Si Angelica no había muerte, la madre habría sido menos preocupado sobre las vidas de sus propios hijos.
2) La importancia de los muchachos en la drama es un tema que está desarollando. La peregrina observa los muchachos jugando fuera de la casa y sabe mucho sobra la familia simplemente por viendo los muchachos. Cuando la peregrina está participando en el juego con los niños, ellos están muy importantes en el despertar del alma del peregrino. Ella se siente como una mujer en ese momento.
Obviamente el muerte es un tema que está desarollando en la drama. El muerte está prefigurado por el perro que está ladrando fuera de la casa. Los manos de la peregrina están fríos, un signo de muerte. La peregrina menciona que ella se siente palpitar su corazón por la primera vez cuando ella se ríe, también por la primera vez. El muerte siempre está presente cuando la peregrina esté en el cuarto.
4) The existence of the pilgrim is heart-breaking, and while the reader may want to reach out to her, and as much as she wants someone to help her, no one can. Casona draws on the empathetic side of the reader and while our hearts ache for the pilgrim, we should really be afraid of her. The pilgrim is living a life that will never be fulfilled. She catches a glimpse of what it feels like to be a real woman, laughing and smiling with children and she feels her maternal instinct kicking in. This is why the painting of the pilgrim as death is so unique. People don't sympathize with death, but in this situation it is hard not to. You can see the pilgrim wants to feel, she wants to love and to live a normal life but she cannot help who she is. She wants so desperately to touch things without killing them. You want to reach out to her but you can't because if you act on your feelings toward the pilgrim, you will die, even before your time.
5) When the pilgrim leaves the first time, she says she will be back seven full moons. This is obviously a sign of what is to come.. most likely death. Death may come to any family member - the Mother, the Children, Telva, Quico, the Grandfather. Whose time will come first is yet to be determined, although since the grandfather and Telva are the oldest, they would be the most logical choice. Since Adela is part of the plot at the end of Act II, her role and relationship to the others is also yet to be determined. She is almost parallel to Angelica, with her near death at the river and Martín saving her. I can see Martín having a relationship with Adela and that relationship could develop into what he had with Angelica.
